The Big Match: Buriram United vs Muangthong United—A Coronation or a Coup?
There was a time, not so long ago, when a trip to the Chang Arena was a journey into the unknown for Muangthong United. Now, it feels increasingly like an appointment with destiny—or at the very least, a very well-drilled executioner. As we head into Matchday 26, the "Super Match" arrives with Buriram United sitting on an eighteen-game unbeaten league run and a psychological high that could probably power the entire Isan region. Their midweek ACL Elite heroics, surviving a 100-minute siege with ten men before dispatching Melbourne City on penalties, has given the Thunder Castle an aura of invincibility that is becoming frankly tiresome for the rest of the division.
Muangthong arrive as the faded aristocrats of the Thai game. They possess the history, the badge, and the residual arrogance to believe they can ruin the party, but whether they have the defensive structural integrity to survive ninety minutes in the Buriram pressure cooker is another matter entirely. The win last week against Uthai Thani will do them the world of good but is surely too little to late. The tactical conundrum for the visitors is whether to sit deep and hope Buriram are leg-heavy from their continental excursions, or to attack a backline that will be missing the injured Pansa Hemviboon.
With Buriram’s eyes inevitably drifting towards their centralised ACL Elite quarter-final in Jeddah this April, there is a unliklely and in our opnions impossible narrow window for a Muangthong coup. However, under the floodlights in Buriram, sentiment usually goes to die. If the hosts find their rhythm early, this could transition from a "Super Match" to a celebratory lap very quickly. Expect theatre, expect tackles that border on the antisocial, expect the referee to do something 'suprisingly' in favour of Newin's men but ultimately, expect the Buriram machine to keep rolling toward its historic five-trophy haul.

Thai League 2: Key Fixtures
Nakhon Si United vs Chanthaburi (Saturday, 19:30)
The Take: The situation for Nakhon Si is becoming critical. They sit in the bottom three with only four winnable games left to save their skin. Chanthaburi have little to play for but pride, which usually means they’ll either roll over or play like prime Barcelona. We suspect the former.
Prediction: Home Win
Pattani FC vs Chainat Hornbill (Sunday, 18:30)
The Take: The Rainbow Stadium remains a fortress. Pattani are comfortably in third and looking to tighten their grip on that spot before the April showdown with Sisaket for automatic promotion. Chainat are hanging onto the play-off race by their fingernails, but the heat in the South will likely peel them off.
Prediction: Home Win
Police Tero vs Sisaket United (Sunday, 19:00)
The Take: The Police are still technically alive but Sisaket United are a different breed of beast and are in the postion many thought Tero were set for at the break in the season. Tero’s skeptical fans are beginning to wonder if a play-off spot is even possible. Facing a Sisaket side sniffing automatic promotion, it looks unlikely.
Prediction: Away Win

The Locker Room: The Injury Report
The news out of True Bangkok United is catastrophic. Both Pokklaw Anan and Picha Autra have been ruled out for the remainder of the season with serious knee ligament injuries. For a team currently in the semi-finals of the ACL Two and the domestic cup, losing your entire creative engine room in one week is a hammer blow. Coach Totchtawan Sripan will be raiding the academy or looking for a miracle in the coming days. Anthony Hudson, meanwhile, will be watching the rest of this weekend's fixtures through his fingers as he prays the national team casualty list doesn't grow.
